Check solo and context. Solo helps reveal distortion, while the full arrangement shows whether the controlled peak actually fits better. A tiny transient change may disappear appropriately in the mix; a bright saturation artifact may become more distracting once vocals and cymbals return.

## Using Fruity Soft Clipper on the Master

You can load Fruity Soft Clipper on the Master because it is a normal Mixer effect, but that does not make it mandatory mastering processing. On a full mix, every element reaching the threshold can be reshaped. Work conservatively, audition the busiest section, and compare against no clipping at matched loudness.

The device can reduce brief sample peaks before another stage, but its Threshold is not documented as a true-peak delivery guarantee. Output processing, reconstruction between samples, sample-rate conversion, and encoding can produce peaks that differ from the plugin's meter. If a delivery specification names dBTP, measure the completed output with an appropriate true-peak meter and use a processor designed to enforce that requirement if needed.
